It's interesting that there's no spelling for the letters in the alphabet, even though we are pronouncing words, specifically with the consonants. If we spelled them all out we would get:
- aa
- bee
- cee
- dee
- ee
- ef
- gee
- aach
- ii
- jay
- kay
- el
- em
- en
- oa
- pee
- qu
- ar
- es
- tee
- uu
- vee
- double u
- ex
- wi
- zee
One things that's notacible is all the consonants use either an a or e sound with the exception of Y and Q. If the e comes before the consonant it's a short e sound, and if it comes after it's a long sound.
H is interesting because it only has the sound of ch, it doesn't contain it's own unmodified sound. W doesn't even contain the sound of itself in anyway.
O is hard to spell out, it actually has three sounds it makes, such as in pot, soon, flow.
